5th March 2012, Boring Monday ! Another indecent in boring life made me think like hacker.
Samir, a friend in company called me to discuss. I had no idea where we are heading to. We had discussion about some requirement of client to develop "Voting system". Ideas were all around and curious to know first project.
We scheduled meeting with client at 3 PM. Some political party from Nasik. The party came from Nasik to met us. White XYLO, religious people, discussing about "HACKING EVM" aka Electronic voting machine.
That sounds some terribly wrong , devastating. "But why ?" when we asked they told us that other political party doing same and their community in Nasik will have to suffer if they don't win elections. We heard their agenda and .... (We were scared a bit.)
Then, we had some coffee and searched on net about "EVM". Later, we were searching for how it can be hacked. as we know they are many videos available on net and our friend "Google" can tell us everything as he does not know "Right or Wrong" !.
The Party already knew about EVM more than us. They had their research ready.
The party offered us to work 2 days in Nasik and then some cash or some devices to hack EVM machine. They were ready to offer ipad , iphone whatever .... ! They want us to give presentation in "Mantralaya, Mumbai" in few days on "EVM machines can be hacked !" and agreed to pay much more if we succeed in that.
Completely illegal, but feasible. Someone always say "Nothing is Impossible" (... Don't know who is that guy though !). "The challenge was accepted !" . It was complete bizarre situation, moral values, positive thinking about society did not let us down before them.
"Now the turning point of decision was that we found a case of K. Hari prasad who hacked it and went to jail." Final and important task remaining, we want to tell political party a big "NO !" and Samir, did a wonderful job to convince them !
At night, I was analyzing all that happened with me and thinking was chance to become hacker.....
PS: The each story has moral in positive or negative. The life changes after taking decisions. Saw some people with same religion but have different moral values ! Thinking about just 1 scenario won't impact but if the occurrence is high then it is problem not only for society but you also. Government is planning for NOTA option.. (Not on the above), will it help "If EVM is hacked and your vote is going into politician's vote bank to whom you don't want to vote ?"
